14. Self-Assessment and Conclusion

Imagen
This course really helped me understand competence and how it affects the way I teach. I figured out that it is really important to make lessons that're all about the students, where they can talk to each other be creative and have real conversations. So to teach English well you need to be patient try new things care about your students and keep learning. I want to make classrooms where students feel happy, respected and sure of themselves when they are learning English.

13. Self-Assessment with Meta AI

Imagen
I used Meta AI to look at my school work. It really made me think about how I am doing. The tool gave me ideas about how to make my writing, like how to use grammar and organize my thoughts and pick the right words. Even though Meta AI can give me feedback I learned that it is still important to think about what I am doing and work with other people. When I use technology and my teacher helps me I get an education. This activity also helped me understand what is expected of me when I write for school and how to make my writing better by looking at it again.

12. Lesson Planning with Meta AI

Imagen
For this activity our professor gave us an English grammar book. Asked us to look at a reading passage. We then used Meta AI to make questions that students can answer to see if they understand the passage. This experience showed how artificial intelligence can help teachers plan lessons and save time.. It also showed that we need to look at what the artificial intelligence makes and change it so it fits what the students need to learn. The artificial intelligence should help the teacher not do the thinking, for them. The teacher needs to use their thinking and creativity when they are teaching and the artificial intelligence should just help with that. The teachers job is to teach. The artificial intelligence should just be a tool to help the teacher do that.

11. Lesson Plan: Giving Directions

Imagen
In this lesson plan we created activities for students who are just starting out, these activities help them learn how to give directions and understand where places are in a city. We taught them words, like library, street, corner, how far something is and traffic light. Students practiced asking and giving directions using maps acting out scenarios and working with a partner. This lesson helped students talk to each other and use language in a way that activities that make sense in life help students remember vocabulary better. This is because they connect what they learn with situations like giving directions. Example

10. Abstract and Self-Assessment

Imagen
Writing an abstract was really helpful because it made us explain things in an clear way.  In class we were taught how to find the points of something we read and put them together in a short way, w e also learned from each other for example w hen my classmates checked my work it helped me find the mistakes I made with grammar make my writing easier to understand and help it to become an academic writer. I was able to look at my work and think about how I was doing and what I was good at and what I needed to work on with my academic writing skills and my abstract. The abstract and the class and the feedback, from my classmates all helped me with my writing skills.

9. Theoretical Framework and Presentation

Imagen
Our research and what we did in the classroom were based on the ideas we learned from the framework. We looked at ideas about teaching languages in a way that gets people talking learning by doing things and making sure the students are the people in the classroom. The language learning theories we studied are important because they help teachers make decisions and plan what to do in the classroom. When we gave our presentation we talked about how these language learning theories work in schools and how they help people learn languages. This really helped me with the words I use when I am talking about things it helped me get better at researching and it made me feel more confident when I have to talk about things, in English.

8. Action Research – Viral Culture in the Classroom

Imagen
Action research is an useful thing that helps teachers figure out what they are doing in the classroom and make it better. In our project about culture we looked at how things that are popular on social media affect the way students talk to each other behave and learn. We found out that viral content can actually be a thing in the classroom if it is connected to what students are supposed to be learning. Things like videos, memes and talking about things online can get students more involved and excited about learning if they are used in a responsible way. This experience taught me that teachers nowadays have to be able to adapt to the way students really live and use technology in an creative way, in education so viral culture and social media trends and technology are really important for teachers to understand and use effectively in the classroom and that action research is a great tool for teachers to do that.

7. Sanamente Libremente

Imagen
The topic "Sanamente Libremente" made me think about how drugs affect students and society. Drugs like marijuana, heroin and synthetic drugs can harm your body, emotions and studies. They can also hurt your relationships with family and friends. As teachers we need to make sure students feel safe to talk about their problems and get help. Schools should have programs to prevent drug use offer support and encourage healthy activities. This way students can make choices. I also realized that teachers can make a difference in students lives,we can teach values help students understand health and boost their self-esteem by doing so we can help students stay away from drugs and live a healthy life. This experience reminded me that teachers have a role in promoting healthy habits and values, with that being said w should help students develop decision-making skills and a positive self-image. By working hard we can create a safe and supportive environment, for all students.

6. Problems We Face While Teaching English

Imagen
Teaching English can be tough. One big issue is that students are scared to make mistakes. They get nervous when speaking English because they worry about saying words in a mistaken way Another problem is that some students just don't see the point of learning English. They think it's hard or that they won't use it in their lives. So teachers have to make lessons that're fun and relevant to what students care about and what they do every day. English is important. Teachers must make English lessons interesting. In classrooms, with limited resources it can be hard to teach. Students have skill levels, which doesn't help.. If teachers are patient, creative and plan well they can get through these tough times. Good planning helps teachers teach English well.

5. Creative Thinking Questions and Lesson Plan

Imagen
Creative thinking questions are really important for students because they help students think about things come up with ideas and say what they think in English. This is better than remembering things. When students do this they are actually doing something in the class not just sitting there. Our plan for the class was: * First we introduce the topic. Remind students what they already know. * Then we have the students do something make a plan and tell us about it. * After that we look at the grammar and words they used. We practice some more. This way of teaching works well because students first think about what they want to say. Then they think about how to say it correctly. It is more like how people learn things and it helps students feel better, about speaking English.

4. Developing Communicative Skills

Imagen
Developing the ability to communicate effectively requires more than teaching grammar rules. Teachers need to help students improve their skills by focusing on the four main parts of communicative competence. Communicative competence has four parts: * Linguistic competence: this is about knowing grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary of the language. * Sociolinguistic competence: this means being able to use language in the right way depending on the situation and the people around you. * Discourse competence: this is the ability to express your ideas clearly and in an order when you are speaking or writing. * Strategie competence: this involves being able to deal with problems that come up during communication, such as using different words to explain something or using gestures to help get your point across. When students learn all these parts of competence they will be able to communicate more successfully. In my opinion activities that combine all four parts of competence, in real ...

3. PPP: Presentation, Practice, and Produce

Imagen
The PPP model is a popular way to teach English. It has three parts: Presentation, Practice and Production. First the teacher explains grammar or vocabulary in the presentation part. The teacher uses examples to make it clear. Then in the practice part students do exercises to help them understand better. After that in the production part students use the language on their own. They talk to each other write something or give a presentation. The PPP model works well because it helps students learn slowly. It takes them from understanding something to being able to use it in their own words. This method also helps students feel more comfortable and join in because it is structured and easy to follow. The PPP model is really good at reducing nerves and getting students to participate in class. The PPP model makes learning English a lot, for students. " Honestly I have seen this happen many times when I work with the team. When students are in the 'Production' stage and they ar...

2. Communicative Competence

Imagen
Competence is more than just learning grammar rules or lists of words. It is the ability to use language in a way that's dynamic and effective in different social situations. For our students being proficient in a language means knowing how to express their thoughts and ideas in a confident way in the real world. They need to know how to negotiate meaning and adapt their tone, as teachers our goal should be to help students communicate in a way rather than just memorizing to make language learning more practical we need to create classroom activities where students can use language in a way.  We can do this by using activities, like: * Role-Plays and Simulations: students practice using tones in different situations like ordering food at a casual restaurant or speaking at a formal job interview. * Debates and Collaborative Projects: students learn how to structure their arguments agree or disagree with others and keep a conversation going. * Structured Interviews: students practice...

1- Introduction: Journey to become an English Facilitator

Imagen
My journey to become a teacher has taught me how important it is to communicate well understand students and be creative in class, when I look back on my experiences I see how different ideas, plans and time in the classroom helped me get better at teaching languages. This blog is about how being good at communication affects how I teach and how students learn, i also want to show how my ideas about teaching have changed. I used to think that teaching English was about grammar and vocabulary. Now I know that it's also, about helping students talk and use English in real life. English teachers have to do more than just teach; they have to help students communicate well. This is what I learned. Its what I want to show in this portfolio.
